Neuschwanstein, Glockenspiel und Hofbräuhaus

Big Bavarian day! We began at Neuschwanstein Castle, another castle by “Mad” Ludwig.

The castle’s interior is about 1/3 complete and the king lived it in for a total of 3 months before he mysteriously died. The view of the castle is spectacular.

Off to München to see the Glockenspiel;
we made it just in time for the third daily chiming and dance.

Following the 15ish minute spiel, we walked over to the Hofbräuhaus for some great food, bier and oompah music.
I tried the local favorite – Crisp roast knuckle of pork and … ja bier!

  1. Love it! That ludwig was a nut. I read book on him. Cocooco. Drink a bier for me. And sing a song in German too. Just don't b tempted to put those green overall things on.

  2. Just checked out the website---fantastic! Love the bus! It's all about the food, isn't it? Thanks so much for letting us share the trip from home (or wherever I am right now).
